Lisa Shanahan is an award-winning writer of picture books and fiction for young people. Her YA novel My Big Birkett was was shortlisted for the 2007 CBCA Book of the Year for Older Readers in Australia and was the 2008 New York Public Library Best Book for the Teen Age in the U.S.
Lisa’s picture book Bear and Chook by the Sea won the CBCA Book of the Year for Early Childhood in 2010 and her middle-grade novel, The Grand, Genius Summer of Henry Hoobler, received the 2017 Queensland Literary Award for Children’s Fiction and was also shortlisted for the 2018 CBCA Book of the Year for Younger Readers. Her picture book, Hark, It’s Me, Ruby Lee! was a 2018 CBCA Honour Book of the Year for Early Childhood.
Lisa’s latest picture book Hello World was a 2022 CBCA Notable title in the Early Childhood Book category.
